Scandinavian Trade Association (STA) President Tom Mortenson, from Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, has been invited by Florida Governor Rick Scott and First Lady Ann Scott to attend a reception honoring Consul Generals and Honorary Consuls in Florida. The January 31st reception will be held at the Governor’s Mansion and will bring together foreign leaders who facilitate trade between Florida, the United States, and other countries.

“STA works with the five Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden in providing high quality business networking opportunities for everyone engaged in, or interested in, commerce and/or cultural exchanges between countries and the United States” Mortenson said.

“The Scandinavian Trade Association provides business connections on either side of the Atlantic Ocean. STA’s vast network of businesses and organizations in the five Scandinavian countries, and in the United States, is designed to increase trade and business opportunities that can be connected not only in Florida but in Minnesota and North Dakota” Mortenson said.
“International trade and foreign-direct investment accounted for about one-sixth of the state of Florida’s economic output last year and supports an estimated one million jobs. Trade and investment is extremely important to the Florida economy and Governor Scott’s job creation objectives for the state” Mortenson said in quoting statistics from Enterprise Florida.
